Root and Soil's 100 % Natural hair wash gel for babies is made with "naturally derived lye" from sea salt. It is cold-pressed virgin coconut oil based. It has the goodness of shade tried citral and herbal extracts. Safe to use on baby's hair from day 1. Since it is in thick gel consistency, around 2-3 gms are comfortably enough for a bathtime. Lasts for more than 40 washes. SLS (sodium Lauryl Sulphate) is a surfactant that it present in most shampoos to create lather. They are said to cause cancer in long terms, but what they definitely do is take away natural oils from the head and makes the scalp, hair dry. This also affects the body temperature as a whole when used twice or thrice a week. In baby shampoos, instead of SLS, they contain amphoteric surfactant s that are less drying (read these also take away the natural oils but little lesser) and milder to the eyes ( tear-free shampoos !). In our body wash gel and hair wash gel we use only naturally derived lye (NaOH) to create lather. Our wash gels are not tear-free.

Take a pinch of hair wash gel in ur palm or in a bowl, dilute it with a few drops of water. Rub to lather and then apply it on baby's hair. Disclaimer : Mild burning sensation when contacted to eyes, as castor oil is a natural eye cleanser.
